Admin Icons SQL

I made a quick and easy PHP script for those of you that use the Admin Icons SQL plugin for amxmodx. The first release was quite simple, and looked ugly. This ones a bit spiffed up, and has a login for security. The only thing you need to modify is the settings in config.php. Report any problems and make requests with a comment. The file is attached to the post.

- Cookie based authentication
- Add, delete, and edit icon entries

- Create an importer for icons.cfg

Using HLSW With Natural Selection 3.2 Beta 2

Because the “Mod Directory” for Natural Selection 3.2 Beta versions has changed from ns to nsp, HLSW no longer detects it as Natural Selection. There’s a really simple fix for this.
In your HLSW cfg directory (Usually C:\Program Files\HLSW\cfg) there is a file called Games.cfg. You need to open that file in notepad and scroll down to line 972 and you will see:

['ns'] = { ['Name'] = ‘Natural Selection’;
['Acronym'] = ‘NS’; ['Icon'] = 1292;
['IconName'] = ‘IDI_GAMETYPE_HL_NS’;
};

Directly after that, add:

['nsp'] = { ['Name'] = ‘Natural Selection Beta’;
['Acronym'] = ‘NS’; ['Icon'] = 1292;
['IconName'] = ‘IDI_GAMETYPE_HL_NS’;
};

Once you save the file, and open HLSW, you will see that it now detects Natural Selection Beta servers as Natural Selection, and not HL-MOD.

Xerond’s Comm/Siege Guide For ns_Altair

Why hello, first thing I should say; This is gonna be long. Real long. So sit back, crack your knuckles, cause you’re going to want to, or will skim through this.

This “guide” is going to cover my little comm style and how I like to do things, sieges spots for every map and hive, hive guides, relocations, and my commentary I how I think the map “can” be played as a commander. Before you begin looking through what I have to say here I’d suggest you go over and look at Aero’s Siege guide which is very helpful and I’ll be reiterating a lot of his points through-out this guide. Xerond’s Advanced Marine Structure Guide

Marine Structures - The Low Down

This is going to be a little “break” guide that I’m making in between my map guides so.. yeah, enjoy.

To one point you know that an Infantry Portal spawns Marines, thats an Armory gives you ammo/health/weapons, that an Arms Lab gives you upgrades, but this guide will give you all the numbers associated with each marine structure. Such as: build times, research times, the affects/attributes/abilities the structures gives, and advanced tactics with each structure. As a Commander, a Marine, and an Alien. All the information here should help you out. If you dont want to go through a read all my commentary, you dont need to, really its the numbers that will matter, and putting all the numbers together, such as calculating a siege, or a rush, or any structure based tactic for marine game.

Notes-
The calculations below are based on NS 3.1, once NS 3.2 is released to the public I will update this guide accordingly.
